If the first wave of Trudeauism, which hit the country from 1968 to 1984, deeply shook the federation by amputating one of the founding nations of the Constitution, the second wave, from 2015 to 2024, almost dealt it a fatal blow.
A chronicle by Alexandre Morin
Canada’s debt has reached a colossal $1.355 billion, while the crime rate has increased by 16% since 2015. Opioid-related deaths have exploded, rising 200%, and annual inflation average over the last nine years stands at 12.76%.
Meanwhile, Canada’s GDP per capita has fallen 2.8% since 2019, while that of the United States has grown 7%. Add to this growing international isolation, and the conclusion is clear: the Trudeau government has seriously weakened the country.
“From 2015 to 2019, the Crime Severity Index (CSI) increased from around 70 to almost 80 in Canada.”

Justin Trudeau, in an ideological delirium focused on the massive entry of newcomers into the country, made irrational decisions despite economic indicators.
Unhealthy ideology
Trudeauism manifests itself in purely ideological decisions, often contrary to national interests. This intellectual drift led Justin Trudeau to more than questionable choices, such as keeping the borders wide open during the first critical weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The federal government, faced with a situation that contradicted everything it had ever preached, proved incapable of protecting the country by controlling the borders. In Quebec, this inaction forced Mayor Valérie Plante to take measures on her own at the Pierre-Elliot-Trudeau airport.
Prime Minister Trudeau and his team have let record numbers of newcomers into the country, causing housing costs to skyrocket and dealing a severe blow to the purchasing power of Canada’s middle class.
Given the well-known data on housing construction in Canada, it was obvious that an uncontrolled increase in newcomers would have such a devastating effect.
“In Quebec, the demographic increase has exploded demand for housing, leading to an increase in rents of 5.7% in 2023, the strongest annual increase in nearly 30 years.”

In these two cases, Trudeau’s multiculturalist ideology took precedence over the health and economic security of the Canadian people. This ideology is also distinguished by zero tolerance towards criticism, quickly labeled as lacking in virtue.
This political philosophy, deeply harmful to freedom of expression, could finally come to an end.
Over nearly a decade, Justin Trudeau has weakened our economy, compromised our security and eroded our national identity.
Hope
With his departure and the growing prospect of the election of a new party at the head of the country, Canadian youth can finally dream of more favorable economic prospects.
Hope is reborn that a new federal government will put an end to excessive spending on social programs, often purely electoral, which has fueled galloping inflation in the country.
Let him stop the massive influx of immigrants, legal and illegal, which has deprived many Canadian families of fair access to housing.
Hope is reborn that a new government will stop apologizing to anyone who felt offended, putting an end to this incessant climate of guilt imposed by so-called wokism.
That he will respect our military forces, granting them at least 2% of GDP, and restore us to a sense of security in the face of growing geopolitical challenges.
Hope is reborn that a future prime minister will manage to gain respect on the international scene and rebuild broken ties.
May he restore the rule of law to our streets to put an end to the rise in crime.
Nine years of tax increases and crime. Nine years of decline in purchasing power. Nine years of loss of confidence, both on our own soil and internationally. Today, without declaring victory too soon, we can finally start dreaming again.
