The President of the Confederation Karin Keller-Sutter spoke by telephone on Tuesday with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, she indicated on the social network X. A meeting is being prepared.

(Keystone-ATS) It is important for Ukraine that relations with Switzerland remain meaningful and oriented towards achieving rapid peace, Mr. Zelensky explained on his online site. “We appreciate Switzerland’s willingness to support us both politically and organizationally.”
The Ukrainian president did not give any information on the date and place of the meeting with Ms. Keller-Sutter. The annual World Economic Forum (WEF) is due to take place in two weeks in Davos (GR). Mr. Zelensky’s participation in this meeting of political leaders, entrepreneurs and other decision-makers is not yet known.
In her message on X, Karin Keller-Sutter assured Mr. Zelensky of her support. She cited long-term humanitarian and reconstruction projects as well as the desire to contribute to a peace process through good offices.
Switzerland organized a conference on peace in Ukraine in June in Bürgenstock (NW). More than 40 heads of state and government participated in the meeting. Russia was not invited. The majority of summit participants adopted ideas for lasting peace, but they could not agree on a clear procedure for involving Russia in a peace process. Ukraine recently planned a follow-up summit.
