Senegal aims to maintain its domination of African in 2025, with the aim of retaining the continental titles won in recent years. This was stated by Mayacine Mar, national technical director (DTN), during a meeting devoted to the assessment of the qualifications of the Senegalese national teams for African competitions.

“We want and we want to keep the titles that we have won. Additionally, we are targeting the African Cup for the women’s national team,” the DTN said.

Senegal brilliantly qualified all its national teams for the competitions organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Already crowned African champion in the U17, U20 categories and during the African Nations Championship (CHAN) reserved for local players, the country intends to defend its trophies with ardor.

For Mayacine Mar, the key to success lies in rigorous preparation: “We must put in place an effective system and planning now, prioritizing training courses and international friendly matches. »

He also assured that the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) will do everything possible to guarantee optimal conditions for the national teams.

In 2025, Senegalese teams will be involved in several major competitions: the CHAN, scheduled from February 1 to 28 in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, will see the local Lions defend their title.

The Cubs will participate in the CAN U17 in Morocco, from March 30 to April 19, then in the CAN U20 in Ivory Coast, from April 26 to May 18.

The young U15s will play the African School Championship in Zanzibar (Tanzania), from May 18 to 24.

The women’s national team will play the CAN in Morocco, from July 5 to 26. Finally, the senior Lions will close the year with CAN 2025, also scheduled in Morocco, from December 21 to January 18, 2026.

With an already impressive track record, Senegal positions itself as a benchmark in African football. “Today, we are African champions. We must repeat these successes. We have the capacity,” insisted the DTN.
