The Le Gerfaut association draws a positive assessment of the year 2024. Structured, it is starting new projects in Toulonjac, including the restoration of heritage.
In 2025, Gerfaut celebrates its 5th anniversary. A pivotal year for the association which is pursuing its numerous projects with a well-defined course. “2024 was quite a good year”rejoices Jean-Luc Forey, President of the association. “The start of the festival was a little complicated with the weather and the Olympics casting a shadow, but we finished well.” Gourmet markets, garage sales, Occitan workshops… Several new developments have helped to energize the association.
“The team was restructured for better organization and to create dynamic groups “adds the president. 18 volunteers in total, each of whom has specific tasks.
“This also allows us to free up people and a budget to launch the renovations of the church. We are gradually starting to restore, with our finances, by working with the heritage foundation on the crosses”. Two of them, metal, will be restored during the year. Others made of stone are also affected. Joint work with the municipality and the architects of buildings in France. The long-term objective being, for the association, to renovate the church.
“It’s a great progression since our creation. We are happy to be on the right track and we will continue with this energy”underlines the president. “This brings Toulonjac and West Aveyron to life, with our summer festival. On our scale of course and in addition to the rich programming of Villefranche.”
The concerts for this edition have already been scheduled (see box). “This will be our big meeting in 2025, to celebrate the five years of the festival,” announces Jean-Luc Forey. “There was superb work from the team with great concerts. We are looking forward to all these meetings planned this year in Toulonjac.”
