The only ski resort in Gard will only have opened its slopes a few days since the start of the winter season.
Its managers can no longer pay the insurance costs, according to France 3, the ski lifts are therefore not operational. It is not possible to ski down the nine slopes of the Alti Aigoual resort.
Free access, unsupervised
While waiting to find a solution, it is still possible to slide down the slopes, but on a sled, under your own responsibility. In addition to the lack of snow, payment of insurance costs for 2025 is lacking. Managers must find 10,000 euros to hope to reopen the ski slopes, we learn via the same source.
Insurance problem
Online prize pool, call for solidarity from other ski resorts and volunteers, everything will have been done to save the Alti Aigoual resort (our article here). “We are in the process of repaying our debt with our old insurance and looking for solutions to pay the current one” says Denis Boissière, spokesperson for the station, to France 3.
