The former president of the National Rally is visiting the island for a few days.

She also has promised residents to “amend” the emergency bill for the island, which must be presented this Wednesday to the Council of Ministers.
The former president of the National Rally did not hesitate to describe herself as a “spokesperson” for the Mahorais, adding that if she made the trip, it was first and foremost to “listen” to them.
“Absolute emergency”
Marine Le Pen went this Monday, January 6 to the Mayotte hospital center (CHM) in order to see in what conditions the caregivers work and to better understand the extent of the disaster within the establishment. Faced with numerous water leaks, the closure of a maternity wing and work without air conditioning, the politician declares that it is “an absolute emergency”, while describing hospital staff as ” heroic”, facing “the urgent emergency”, report our colleagues from Mayotte 1.
She also promised the Mahorais that a new hospital will be set up: “The reality is that we need a new hospital. Each time, we put the structures on top of each other. In fact, it looks like to a Lego house.”
“It’s scandalous”
During this visit, Marine Le Pen also visited the town of Handréma, described as the “cyclone wall”. At the microphone of our colleagues from BFM 2, a resident expressed her anger at the absences of politicians in her town and did not hesitate to highlight the effort of the RN deputy who, for her part, came: ” I find it scandalous that Marine Le Pen had to come to Mayotte for Handréma to exist. We have been forgotten since December 14th, not even the media, whether local or national. The city still has no water or electricity since Cyclone Chido struck. The resident also asked “elected officials to see that there are people here”.
Marine Le Pen continues her visit to the archipelago for a few more days, hoping to be able to make things happen on the island.
