Wedged between the vaults and the slates, the wooden frame of thechurch of Lanmeurone hundred and twenty years old, was not visible until the recent installation of a walkway under the roof. “This is what allowed us to see big messes at the level of the punch located at the junction of the roofs”, relates Yvon Denis, deputy in charge of buildings, during the municipal council of December 12.
The rainwater went towards the four slopes called swales.
This new discovery requires emergency work; we cannot leave this untouched.
The bill is growing
This new work is estimated at almost €30,000a sum which is added to the €99,831 for phase 2 of the second tranche of work on the spire and inside the church. Passing the market for more than €127,000.
The reopening of the church, initially planned for early January, has been postponed until February 28.
A grant application will be deposited under the local investment support grant (DSIL) which makes it possible to finance the major investment priorities of municipalities. A business consultation file has been launched.
Waiting for the chapel of Kernitron
Another building attracts the attention of elected officials, that of the Kernitron chapel.
The Kernitron chapel has been partially closed for two years, only the nave remains accessible.
The almost thousand-year-old building, listed as a Historic Monument, presents a worrying structural state: water inlets in the upper parts linked to the state of the masonry, the staircase which had become dangerous and the stones had become separated.
The municipality is still awaiting additional diagnostics on the state of the framework.
