INTERVIEW – The president of the French subsidiary of Italian railways explains how he is organizing the company to develop its high-speed trains in against the SNCF.

Originally, in 2011, the French subsidiary of Italian railways was called Thello. It was created to operate night trains between France and the peninsula during the first phase of the opening of rail transport to competition. It took the name Trenitalia France during the liberalization of high-speed lines to run its Frecciarossa trains in France. An engineer graduated from the University of Pisa, Marco Caposciutti has held various positions in the Italian railways since 1993 before becoming president of Trenitalia France.
