In a few hours, temperatures rose very quickly in the capital and throughout Île-de-France, going from 1°C to more than 10°C this Sunday, January 5.
Two days, two atmospheres. After a Saturday day of freezing rain, this Sunday, January 5, will be marked by very mild temperatures in the capital.
Hats and gloves can be left in the cupboards. While the mercury was close to -1°C on Saturday morning, the thermometer should exceed 12°C this Sunday, or 4°C above seasonal norms. A very marked mild spell, particularly at night: between midnight and 5 a.m., +10°C was recorded in the central Paris weather station.
Wind gusts up to 50 km/h
The black ice that may have remained after the recent rains, where Paris and all of Île-de-France were placed on orange alert, had time to melt and dissipate in the morning. The sky will remain gray and very cloudy.
Wind gusts of up to 50 km/h are still expected all day in the capital. They should even intensify this Monday morning.
This very marked mild spell is also observed throughout the region and beyond, such as in Normandy where up to 15°C was added to the thermometer.
