In winter, the Cotentin and Bessin Marshes Natural Park, in the English Channel, is covered with water. A phenomenon known as white swamps.
Ce natural phenomenon gives you very beautiful landscapes that the Maison du parc and its partners introduce you to, via accompanied outings.
Here is the program for the month of January.
Meeting with the birds
Several outings will introduce you to the birds present in the marshes in winter.
Saturday January 18, a walk on vast expanses of sand in Géfosse-Fontenay is offered to you by Elan Nature. The meeting is set for 9 a.m. Reservation required on 06 89 11 44 01.
Sunday January 19, at 9:30 a.m., direction Foucarville, for a discovery of “wintering birds on the east coast of Cotentin”. The opportunity to discover the diversity of birds present between the coast and back-coastal marshes. Reservation required on 06 89 11 44 01.
Sunday January 26, the same association takes you to discover wintering marsh birds. An outing to enjoy with the family in a bucolic setting, in an important wintering area for thousands of birds, in Gorges.

Walk in the Bay of Veys, meeting seals
Elan Nature, always, offers you, Saturday January 25, an exit between estuaries and polders, in the Bay of Veys. You will see many birds there, but also perhaps seals.
Departure is scheduled for 10 a.m. Reservation required on 06 89 11 44 01.
In addition, the Park offers you its emblematic outing “Marshes to discover”, Sunday January 19, at 10 a.m. An outing that can be booked online on the park’s website.
