During the 2nd week of the Christmas holidays, attendance was up +11% in ski resorts

This is the observation drawn up by the National Association of Mountain Resort Mayors. The attendance rate in the ski resorts of Savoie and Haute-Savoie was 85% from December 21 to January 4 and even 94% during the 2nd week of the holidays, that of the New Year.

11% increase in the New Year compared to the 2023-2024 season

For this New Year's week, attendance is up +11% compared to last year, proof that the mountain is still just as attractive in winter. Good results which can be partly explained by the good level of snow at the start of the season which concerns almost all the Savoie and Haute-Savoie massifs.

The words of Jean-Luc BOCH, President of the ANMSM

Vacationers came in large numbers to the mountain resorts during the two weeks of the school holidays. The occupancy rate stood at 85% and even 94% during the second week (+11% for the New Year week compared to 2023-2024).

These results are partly due to the good level of snow at the start of the season which concerns almost all the massifs but also to the diversified offer of the resorts which allows us to envisage the rest of the season with optimism.

In this period of uncertainty in many sectors, let us rejoice in the continued strong enthusiasm for our mountains and for winter tourist activity which contributes to the success of national tourism. Elected officials and professionals know how to meet the expectations of vacationers and thus make it possible to put hundreds of thousands of people to work and therefore to live in our territories.

The situation we are experiencing must not make us forget the commitment of resorts to the diversification of activities and seasons and adaptation to climate change. The mountain wins you over!
