Snowflakes may be rare this winter in Oukaïmeden, but the resort does not seem to lose an ounce of its charm. 76 kilometers south of Marrakech and perched at an altitude of more than 2,600 meters, the famous mountain site keeps its seductive abilities intact, combining adventure and relaxation.

On the slopes, skiers, beginners or experienced, trace furrows in the snow. There are enthusiastic cries, and the falls, sometimes spectacular, always result in a burst of laughter in a good-natured atmosphere. A few dozen meters further on, children abandon themselves to the joys of sledding, hurtling down the slopes at full speed under the amused, and slightly worried, looks of their parents.

«This is my third visit to Oukaïmedenconfides a Casablanca tourist, with a smile on her face. This time, I particularly enjoyed the atmosphere. The weather is good, which allowed us to take full advantage of the many activities on offer. It is an ideal place to recharge your batteries and spend pleasant moments with your family.»

For others, the experience is still new. A group of young people from Tangier discover the place for the first time. “The atmosphere is truly unique, and the activities are numerous: you can ski, hike or simply walk in the snow. It’s magical!», exclaims one of them. His friend adds: “What I like most is the spirit of conviviality that reigns here. Everyone is smiling, we feel like we are in a holiday village.»

However, the journey to Oukaïmeden was a real adventure for some. This is the case of this visitor who came with his family from Taroudant. “We had a long drive to get here, but it was definitely worth it. Even if this year there is not much snow, the stay is still very pleasant.»
