The indicators are not looking good, to the point that many hospital services are being taken by storm. Flu, Covid 19 and other respiratory infections have been at their peak in recent weeks in France.
In mainland France, last week (2024s52), the incidence rate of cases of acute respiratory infection (ARI) seen in general medicine consultations was estimated at 482 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI). [448 ; 515]) (Data sources: Sentinels and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) IQVIA).
Subject to future consolidation of data, this rate continues the increase observed since the beginning of November (2024s45) (consolidated data for 2024s51: 451 [441 ; 462]).
At the regional level, the highest incidence rates were observed in: Brittany (750 [543 ; 956]), Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (509 [363 ; 656]), New Aquitaine (509 [401 ; 617]) and Pays de la Loire (506 [371 ; 642]).
Flu : the incidence rate of cases of influenza seen in general medicine consultations for ARI was estimated at 251 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [212 ; 290]), or 167,651 [141 665 ; 193 37] new cases (data sources: Sentinelles, SOS Médecins, DUMG Rouen and DERMG Côte d’Azur).
Subject to future consolidation of data, this rate is increasing compared to that of the previous week (consolidated data for 2024s51: 180 [159 ; 201]).
RSV infection : the incidence rate of cases of RSV infection seen in general medicine consultations for ARI was estimated at 33 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [16 ; 50]), or 22,068 [10 819 ; 33 317] new cases (data sources: Sentinelles, SOS Médecins, DUMG Rouen and DERMG Côte d’Azur).
Subject to future consolidation of data, this rate is stable compared to that of previous weeks (consolidated data for 2024s51: 46 [35 ; 56]).
Covid-19 : the incidence rate of cases of Covid-19 seen in general medicine consultations for an acute respiratory infection was estimated at 9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [6 ; 12]) (data source: Sentinels).
Subject to future consolidation of data, this rate is decreasing compared to that of previous weeks (consolidated data for 2024s51: 18 [14 ; 21]).
