The cold continues to intensify in Yvelines. Placed a few days ago on yellow alert, the department is now on alert Orange snow and ice this Saturday January 4, 2025, as announced by Météo France in its latest bulletin. The alert is identical throughout Île-de-France.
According to forecasts at 10 a.m., the Yvelines department should experience an episode of snow and ice at the end of the afternoon and until the beginning of the night. Orange vigilance extends from 18:00 a.m. to 22:00 p.m. A thin layer of snow on the ground, up to 1 cm, is forecast.
Slippery roads
Freezing temperatures expected between -2°C and -7°C should reinforce this phenomenon.
“The expected precipitation could be in the form of snowfollowed by freezing rain, which could make the roads slippery,” announces Météo France.
“Ice, even in small quantities, can be particularly annoying for road traffic. Limit your travel as much as possible,” indicates the Prefecture.
