Learning to eat better without necessarily spending more, by cooking balanced and knowing how to choose your food, this is the objective of the municipality of , (Val-d'Oise) which wants to respond to the challenge of excess obesity and overweight in its population, particularly the youngest.

The city center neighborhood center is offering an educational cycle which will take place from January 8 to February 5 and which is aimed at all families.

“With one in five children overweight, it is crucial to prevent the risks of chronic diseases through good eating habits,” explains Arthur Colpart, project manager of the Les Insatiables association, on the municipality’s website. in charge of the workshops.

This cycle, part of the municipal policy of prevention and health promotion, aims to convey the pleasure of eating well and encourage homemade food.

On the program: understanding the impact of food on our senses, knowing how to decipher labels to choose less sugary products and integrating physical exercises to get moving on a daily basis.

A chef will be present to learn how to make simple, economical and above all, tasty recipes.

“Special attention will be paid to introducing children to the flavor of fruits and vegetables, often shunned but essential,” specifies the town hall.
