The vigilance goes up a notch in Île-de-. This Saturday, January 4, 2025, Météo-France places Paris and its region on orange snow and ice alert, where the yellow alert was already in progress. It will come into force from 6 p.m..

“Traffic difficulties” to be expected

“An episode of snow, then especially freezing rain in the north and north-east of the country this evening and night is expected,” specifies the meteorological institute.

The alert is relayed by communities and local authorities, such as the Paris Police Prefecture:

“Freezing rain can cause traffic difficulties. Be careful,” adds Météo-France, as the weekend promises to be complicated on the road due to the return of the Christmas holidays.

In terms of temperatures, the cold grips the capital. It was -1°C this morning and it should only be 3°C by midday. At the end of the day, the thermometer will not exceed 2°C. The sky will be overcast with freezing rain.
