the king

This morning we weren't hoping for much… 5 cm of cool weather at the station and a cloud hanging halfway down the slope… I'm leaving with the younger generation hoping for a good surprise.

On the slopes it's very pleasant: the snow is soft and hides the slightly icy patches from the beginning of the week… it will last until midday before the benefit disappears… it would have needed a little more for a lasting improvement.

Off the slopes, the first attempt in the forest along the Pic de Ratel ski lift is hardly convincing: it remains irregular and too low in quantity.

And then… against all expectations, it is in the open areas around the red Edelweiss that we find between 0 and 15cm (depending on the exposure of the mini-combs) on a perfectly smooth bottom! Of course, the stones spotted in recent days are never far away so we don't give up but the turns follow one another with pleasure under the sun which has just broken through!

To return to the chalet (with a short final walk with the skis on the bag) the Pellat is less generous in powder snow but we are alone there in the world so that makes up for it!

After this big morning, we return there in the afternoon… but it's a little disappointment: the valleys at the top are all rutted and the valley has started to suffer from the wind…

We just had a glimpse of what paradise could look like… fortunately there is still evening light and stumps in the forest to jump on the way back to save the end of the day ????

Ski quality : 4/5

Weather report : the Skipass weather forecast predicts 4 centimeters of snow at the top of the Crévoux slopes in the next 3 days, the cumulative snowfall expected over the next 9 days is 78 centimeters. Check the Crévoux weather forecast for the full report.
