This new station, whose inauguration took place in the presence of the wali of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, governor of the province of Laâyoune, Abdeslam Bekrate, the governor of the province of Es-Semara, Brahim Boutoumilate, and elected officials, is part of the urban upgrading program of the city of Es-Semara, mobilizing a budget estimated at 12.2 million dirhams (MDH).
The new bus station, which is located at the “Rbeib” urban center, covers an area of 16,543 m², of which the built area is 1,063 m², while the exterior facilities are spread over an area of 15,480 m².
This new station, managed by the municipality of Es-Semara, has five ticket counters, a waiting area, a car park, a police station, and a prayer room, as well as shops, cafes and toilet blocks.
Being the subject of a multi-party agreement between the General Directorate of Local Authorities, the Agency for the Promotion and Economic and Social Development of the Southern Provinces, the Provincial Council and the municipality of Es-Semara, this road infrastructure will allow travelers and professionals to benefit from the best services while respecting security conditions.
Several travelers among the users of this station welcomed the inauguration of this new bus station equipped with necessary amenities, welcoming the fluidity of movement within this platform and the availability of a large fleet of coaches.
For their part, road transport professionals were unanimous in affirming that this new station will improve working conditions and citizen travel.
