Weather for the weekend and until the start of the school year on January 6: the forecast weather in Occitanie and France

The forecasts for the weekend of January 4 and 5, 2025 promise to be disrupted in France. Episodes of wind and a risk of black ice are expected in the North and the eastern coast of France. The South should be relatively spared.

Saturday January 4

The night from Friday to Saturday will be relatively calm and cold in many regions. In the South, the weather should remain mild this Saturday despite persistent clouds until the evening. Météo-France indicates that it will be between 11°C and 14°C in the South-West, precisely 12°C in Tarbes and Perpignan, 11°C in Toulouse, 10°C in Castres and 13°C in Castres. These temperatures should each gain two to three degrees in the afternoon. The sun could also return to the Pyrenees and Corsica at the end of the day.

Elsewhere in France, the weather will be marked by freezing drizzle near the Massif Central as well as in the Alps in the afternoon. “Sustained” rains in the West rather at the end of the day which should reach the North of the country in the evening then the East during the night.

Sunday January 5

The weather on Sunday will be milder in the South-West with a sustained wind over the Pyrenees, indicates Météo-France.

A period of clearing should affect Tarbes in the morning but thick clouds will persist in Toulouse, Perpignan, Auch and Montauban. Temperatures will still remain lower than the previous day with 10°C expected in Toulouse, Auch, Foix and Saint-Gaudens.

Across France, the northern half should benefit from very mild weather. A new disturbance will reach the North-West, bringing “regular rain”, according to Météo-France. On the other hand, gusts of up to more than 90 km/h are expected to sweep Normandy and Brittany. Precipitation is expected in the afternoon across the entire northern facade, from west to east. Between 10 and 15°C are forecast for three-quarters of the country in the afternoon.

Monday January 6

The return of schoolchildren will take place in turbulent weather. The disturbance expected the day before in the North-West could cross the country, giving rise to rainy episodes including in the Mediterranean regions. The precipitation will bring with it gusts of wind to certain northern regions before descending in the evening on the eastern side of the country.
