The managers of the restaurant l’Ôthentik, Audrey Jouannic et Antoine Schryvefrom Liffré (Ille-et-Vilaine) organized a meal like no other: for the benefit of families of Restos du coeur who do not have the possibility or the financial means to go to a restaurant.
The Resto du coeur de Liffré contributed to carrying out this project and launched the invitations for this meal which took place on Sunday December 22.
THE volunteers from the Liffré branch were also invited to eat because without them, nothing would be possible. Claude Sauze, departmental manager of Restaurants, was present, as well as Anne-Laure Ouled-Sghaïer, deputy mayor in charge of solidarity and Guillaume Bégué, mayor of Liffré.
65 meals prepared and served
This approach was entirely voluntary: the restaurant was opened exceptionally on a Sunday evening and privatized for this meal.
The entire team (three people in the kitchen, three people in the dining room and the two managers) worked voluntarily. THE suppliers also participated by offering part of the proposed menu.
The beneficiaries, thirty-six adults, eighteen children and eleven volunteers, were welcomed like regular customers. A common aperitif was offered in the living room. Then, they had a real holiday menu with two starters to choose from, two main courses and a dessert. The little ones had a special menu. Santa Claus arrived during the meal to distribute gifts to the children.
The aim of the operation was also to promote the actions and work of Restos du coeur and all its volunteers and, why not, to give ideas to other businesses that will be sensitive to this local initiative.
