The story of Orlando is inspired by the epic poem “Furious Orlando” by Ludovico Ariosto. The protagonist, a knight filled with passion and anger, finds himself torn between the love of the beautiful Angelica and the fight against enemies. The complexity of his soul is beautifully embodied in Handel's music, which lets human emotion shine through every note. Today, Orlando is performed by the mezzo-soprano Katarina Bradićwith the accompaniment of the orchestra Lyrical Talentsled by Christophe Rousset at the Théâtre du Châtelet.
