The Israeli police indicated, Friday January 3, that they had filed a preliminary declaration with a view to indicting Nissim Kalibat, suspected of being involved in the explosive attack perpetrated in November 2021 near the offices of the Ministry of Health in Nazareth, in northern Israel, according to local media.
The explosion, in this town located in the Galilee, caused significant damage to the building and led to the opening of an investigation by the northern district police force. According to investigators, Nissim Kalibat placed the explosive device on the scene before triggering it remotely. He then reportedly fled Israel in March 2022.
In April 2022, two other individuals, Jaffer Fahuri and Ali Kalibat, brother of the main suspect, were charged in this case. The arrest of Nissim Kalibat was announced in January 2023 by the Moroccan authorities. After legal proceedings, he was extradited to Israel in December 2023.
This statement from the Israeli police marks the culmination of an investigation by the Northern District forces, paving the way for legal proceedings against Mr. Kalibat. However, the date of the formal indictment remains to be specified.
