In Castres, on the night of Sunday December 29 to 30, 2024, two thieves decided to leave the apartment they were searching after discovering the identity of the owner of the premises. Full of remorse, they took the time to write a little note of apology.
Burglars who have limits… As reported La Dépêche du Midion the night of Sunday December 29 to Monday December 30, burglars entered an apartment in Castres (Tarn), by climbing up to a window.
As they glance inside, an envelope of cash with its owner's name written on it catches their eye. It's a cold shower: the criminals know their victim, she is “an eminent member” of the Muslim community of Castres, “known and respected”, according to the newspaper.
Uncomfortable thugs
It's too much for these tender-hearted thieves who decide to abandon their loot at the last moment. To put on a good face, the two night owls leave a little message behind them. “Forgive us, we didn’t steal anything,” they wrote.
An investigation was opened by the Castres police after the return of the owner of the premises. With the number of burglaries increasing for several weeks, the police are urging the population to be extremely vigilant.
