Haute-: hitchhiker turned stalker sentenced to several months in prison

It took less than two weeks for this 28-year-old man to transform his meeting with a young woman living in the Puy basin into real hell. A year earlier, he had attacked another woman, in exactly the same way, feeling the duty to “give education” to these women “to protect them”. The court ordered the joining of the two files which were examined as part of an immediate appearance, Thursday, December 2.

“Rescue and educate my new wife”

The chain of events began on December 17. During the afternoon, a young woman indulges in a good gesture. While she is driving by car, she decides to pick up a young man in Brives-Charensac. They get to know each other briefly during the journey to Yssingeaux. They get along quite well and decide to exchange phone numbers. A few messages follow the following days and they decide to meet again. The homeless man arrives at her house on December 20. They like each other and their flirtation quickly ends in an intimate relationship. He would then have made childish remarks to her that the young woman found strange at the time, without really understanding, such as “don't give up on my love”. She remembers asking him to “stop talking like a baby.” He then got angry and punched her under a shower of insults before asking her to forgive him.

He returned the next day, words of love in his mouth before the evening became “apocalyptic” according to the president of the court. Faced with his desire to have sexual relations again, he ignored the young woman's refusals. An investigation has been opened into these facts which could amount to rape. She did not notify the police before the afternoon of December 31.

Emergency police called to find the man stuck to the apartment door on Tuesday. He simply replied that he was there “to save and educate my new wife.” In addition to voice messages and countless missed calls, the procedure brings together 51 pages of SMS: threats of death or torture for the most part. A few months earlier, his ex-partner had filed a complaint against him, also for harassment. After they broke up, he started following her when she went to or left work. “My original intention was to protect her. »

The psychiatric expertise did not detect any particular pathology in him. “He showed relentlessness, is not aware of the feelings of the other and remains in total denial of his behavior,” summarized the deputy prosecutor Marjorie Szczota before requesting a prison sentence of 18 months, eight of which firm with deposit mandate. The court followed these requisitions; the hitchhiker left under police escort to reach the Puy Prison where he will spend the next eight months.
