After four years of creation, work and performances in the two Savoies, the musical “Dying to Love, the Star-Crossed Lovers of May 68” is about to take a new step in his adventure. Before flying off to the prestigious stages of and , the troupe offers the Savoyard public two exclusive previews on its home lands:

  • January 31, 2025 : Alby-sur-Chéran – SIPA
  • 1er mars 2025 : Samoëns – Espace Le aux Dames

A unique artistic and human adventure

Created by Grégory Fostier et Thierry Forlinoriginally from Chambéry and Rumilly respectively, this musical is loosely inspired by a true story. It plunges the viewer into the of May 68, at the heart of a forbidden love between a French teacher and her student, against a backdrop of social upheaval.

Since its premiere in 2022 at the Théâtre du Casino in Aix-les-Bains, the show has continued to evolve, improving over performances in Chambéry, Rumilly and Aix-les-Bains. Thanks to the unwavering support of its community and a successful crowdfunding campaign, the Savoyard troupe was able to professionalize its team, enrich its staging and refine its musical arrangements.

A completely redesigned version

The show returns in a completely reworked version:

  • Rewritten librettofor stronger narrative immersion
  • New decorsevoking with realism and poetry the France of the 60s
  • Professional artistic platform with 16 artists (8 singers and 8 dancers, all from Savoie)

This local artistic adventure is preparing to conquer the national public, with dates already confirmed in prestigious venues:

  • May 3, 2025 : Lyon – The Labor Exchange
  • 29 have 31 May 2025 : Paris – Théâtre du Gymnase Marie-Bell

A story of love and courage

Inspired by the Gabrielle Russer affair, which moved France in the 1960s, the musical also takes up themes dear to history, notably with the famous title “Dying to Love” by Charles Aznavour. More than just a show, it is an ode to freedom, love and justice, carried by a committed and passionate troupe.
