Belgian champion with Genk in 2019, Joseph Aidoo signed for Celta Vigo for the sum of eight million euros. Lacking playing time, he could join a former Red Devil this winter.
Defensive pillar during Genk’s title in 2019, Joseph Aidoo then joined Celta Vigo for 8 million euros, after playing 78 matches for the Limburgers.
But this season, the Ghanaian is struggling to maintain his starting place. According to the Spanish press and Reliefhe could be loaned to UD Las Palmas, the club of a certain Adnan Januzaj.
Among the nice surprises of the season, in Spain, Las Palmas occupies 13th place in the championship and is, for the moment, experiencing a quieter season than expected. The team is young and dynamic, but still lacks experience in defense. A quality that Joseph Aidoo (29 years old) could bring.
Discussions between Celta and Las Palmas are ongoing and the operation seems to be heading towards a loan. Joseph Aidoo is still under contract until June 2026, while Valladolid, bottom of the championship with, in particular, the former Rouche Selim Amallah, would also be interested.
Las Palmas is, however, the most likely destination. A destination that could allow him to relaunch his career. An operation which could bring happiness to the different parties and which should come to fruition in the coming days.
