The night of December 31, 2024 to January 1, 2025 brought, as every year, its share of excesses into the Oise. Car arsons were notably reported to Compiègne (at least three), as well as Client (André-Ginisti and Gabriel-Péri streets). In the same city, mortar fireworks and clashes with the CRS were also to be deplored.

A vehicle fire was also recorded at Saint-Sauveurcommune located in the sector of influence of the Compiègn gendarmerie companye, whose staff carried out blood alcohol checks all evening when entering and leaving towns.

The gendarmes found the window of their vehicle broken at Mont Saint-Siméon

If New Year's Eve was generally rather calm in Compiégnois, it was not quite the same in Noyon.

Three gendarmes found the driver's side window of their vehicle brokenas well as the glass of their rearview mirror in the Mont Saint-Siméon district. They were carrying out a control operation in a building on Allée des Cordes-aux-Champs, around 11 p.m.

“Trash cans had also been moved on the roads and set on fire. There was no risk of the fire spreading to homes, however, we could not let it happen,” said a senior officer from the Compiègne gendarmerie. Oise news.

Especially since the patrolling personnel then came under mortar fire from hooded individuals dressed in black. Attacks which forced these troops to withdraw, their security no longer being completely assured.

A major operation between 11:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m.

Returning in force to the neighborhood around 11:30 p.m., around twenty gendarmes supported by municipal police forces maintained a presence in this popular neighborhood until 1:30 a.m.

They set about securing the premises and checking the people present around the building where their colleagues' vehicle had been damaged.

However, they did not make any arrests, due to lack of identification information. “The rest of the evening was not the subject of any other specific interventions concerning Mont Saint-Siméon,” further specifies the Compiègne gendarmerie.

An investigation is underway to try to identify the perpetrators of these acts.
