In Callac (Côtes-d'Armor), dogs and cats are put in front of the lens for the benefit of two associations for the protection and shelter of abandoned or mistreated animals, for the 4th time.

In 2020, the Flair Pics project was born in the minds of three animal lovers: Karine Vayer, the photographer, Marianne Bergnel, the animal groomer and Lydia Jouannet, the hairdresser, wanted to create an unusual event. “Our common love for dogs, and animals in general, pushed us to imagine this fun project, while giving it a solidarity dimension.” Since 2022, the team has grown, with the arrival of Christine Clerget alongside the three instigators of the project.

Half a day dedicated to cats

The Flair Pics team is therefore launching its 4th edition, the weekend of January 11 and 12, 2025, with free photo sessions of animals, alone or with their owners, in return for a donation to a shelter. “The big news this year is the opening of an additional half-day, dedicated to cats, on Saturday afternoon,” explains Karine.

As in previous years, this operation aims to support the actions of shelters or associations taking in abandoned animals: “For this 2025 edition, the two beneficiary associations, which will also be present on January 11 and 12 to exchange and explain their actions, are Coup de patte du Kreiz Breizh (for the benefit of cats) and Happy Together (for the benefit of dogs)”.

Donations collected until January 12

The four funny ladies of Flair Pics wish to involve in their project “the volunteers who help us with registration planning, welcoming participants, collecting and recording donations (mainly food), security of the space welcoming animals… Thank you also to the municipality of Callac which provides us, free of charge, with the offices of the old treasury in which we will create a studio space, a reception area, and a space to store donations” .

Jean-François Bouillot, retired veterinarian, and Lise, his wife, provided “essential advice, in particular calming protocols, so that the cats are welcomed in the best conditions”.

Between January 2 and 12, carts will be used to receive donations from all people who wish to support the operation, in the hall of Intermarché and the Point Vert cooperative.

By registration only

Purebred dog or mongrel, short or long hair, with or without pedigree, “all dogs are accepted”, reassures the female quartet, “on the sole condition of having registered them beforehand, by email, at valentinebzh&yahoo.com”.

The photo shoot remains free, but, in return, participants agree to make a donation. “A list of needs will be sent by the two beneficiary associations.”

The photos will be transmitted in high definition, by email. It will be possible to ask the photographer to take care of printing the photo in 20×30 format, for an amount of €8.

Photographic sessions for cats and dogs. Reservations required by email, at [email protected]. Photo session times: for cats, Saturday January 11 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.; for dogs, Sunday January 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
