Since December 2, the Great Lakes have had a local health contract. The document engages the community with the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Regional Health Agency (ARS), the State, the Department of Landes and the Primary Health Insurance Fund around a coordinated and local care pathway that is adapted to the needs of users of the territory.
It brings together seven municipalities: Biscarrosse, Gastes, Luë, Parentis-en-Born, Sainte-Eulalie-en-Born, Sanguinet and Ychoux. Its population, which has crossed the threshold of 30,000 inhabitants, is increasing regularly and is rather aging. The most represented age category is that of 60-74 years old.
This contract is the result of work undertaken at the end of 2022 on the basis of a territory-wide diagnosis, an inventory of the healthcare and medico-social provision, the objective of which is to put in place a coordinated action plan between all stakeholders. This is the fifth local health contract signed in the Landes. Its management is ensured by the Intercommunal Social Action Center of the Grands Lacs. A coordinator ensures monitoring and animation.
Mobilize all stakeholders
The local health contract includes numerous partners in order to mobilize all health stakeholders and in other fields of action such as housing, the environment or even education: hospital centers (Mont-de-Marsan, Arcachon ), the Great Lakes territorial professional health community, the Landes family allowance fund, accommodation establishments for dependent elderly people and the Bordeaux Academy.
The associative community is also involved, particularly those involved in prevention actions. Contacts were made on the occasion of Pink October with the organizers of the events in Biscarrosse, Parentis-en-Born and Sanguinet, and a stand set up to raise awareness on public health issues.
Finally, it is also a question of encouraging the establishment of hospital, medico-social services and liberal health professionals (specialists) in the territory with attention to their distribution.
