Investment for Jobs Facility: a third call for projects from January

Morocco is preparing to host the third call for projects under the Investment for Employment Facility (IFE) in January 2025. With grants of up to 10 million euros, this ambitious program aims to promote the creation of stable jobs and strengthen social protection systems.

Morocco is preparing to benefit from a major initiative, from this month of January 2025, with the launch of the third call for projects of the Investment for Employment Facility (IFE).

This program, supported by the KfW Bank and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), aims to promote the creation of stable jobs while introducing innovative social protection measures.

It constitutes an opportunity for private companies, public organizations and non-profit associations to access substantial financing for projects with strong economic and social impact.

Ambitious subsidies
The Investment for Employment Facility, operated as part of the “Decent Jobs for a Just Transition” initiative, offers grants ranging from 650,000 to 10 million euros per project. This funding is conditional on the creation of at least 65 new stable jobs, with priority given to projects which implement innovative social protection measures, exceeding legal standards.

Eligible initiatives include reinforced social security schemes, such as supplementary health or unemployment insurance; investments in social infrastructure, such as crèches, health centers, or adapted work environments; and solutions for informal workers, promoting their integration into structured social protection schemes.

The program also offers the possibility of obtaining additional temporary funding to strengthen existing social schemes, a measure which could make the difference for many ambitious projects.

Selection process
Applications will open in January 2025. The procedure will take place in two stages. First, project leaders will submit a concept note which will be pre-selected. Next, successful applicants will be asked to provide a detailed proposal, which will be thoroughly evaluated before grants are awarded.

To support applicants, a support service (Helpdesk) will be available to answer questions on eligibility criteria, administrative procedures and specific expectations of the program, in addition to making the necessary information available on the official website. : Invest for jobs.

Support for regional and social development
The objective of this program goes beyond simple job creation. This involves strengthening the Moroccan economic and social fabric through projects that promote equal opportunities, sustainability and inclusion. By focusing on strategic sectors such as agriculture, renewable energies and services, the IFE supports a transition towards a fairer and environmentally friendly economy.

Project leaders targeting the integration of women into the labor market or proposing solutions to formalize the status of informal workers will also benefit from priority support. These initiatives are part of a global vision aimed at responding to the structural challenges of the job market while strengthening social cohesion.
