After a slight decline in 2022, the number of businesses created sets a record for the second year in a row. According to figures published on December 31 by the IFJ (Institute for Young Businesses), a company specializing in supporting young businesses, 52,978 new businesses were created in 2024 compared to 51,637 in 2023, an increase of 2.6%. . The trend observed at the end of the covid health crisis is confirmed. In 2023, the difficulties in finding financing had not discouraged the Swiss from launching into entrepreneurship.
Over the last ten years, 46,552 new companies have been registered in the commercial register. The year 2024 therefore represents an increase of 13.8% compared to this average. Furthermore, during the last two years, it is in the first and last quarter that the greatest number of these new companies were born, underlines the IFJ.
