In the twentieth century, “2000” was attached to any term to symbolize the future. Today, the year 2000 is the past, and a quarter of a century later, it is a still nebulous past. This 1999-2000 season was indeed the subject of a statistical gap in French hockey.
How many matches did the record holder of games played for the record club Chamonix titles play? Impossible to know today, due to this vortex of 2000.
In addition to the Elite League (http://hockeyarchives.info/France2000Elite.htm), the Division 1 (National 1) statistics are also incomplete (https://www.hockeyarchives.info/France2000Nat1.htm). In order to compensate for these shortcomings, let's reconstitute each match together:
As a good New Year's resolution, we invite you to join the collaborative project Hockey 2000. Participate actively and very simply in the activity of the Passion Hockey / Hockey Archives team, by sending us your documents and articles on this period 1999-2000 in French hockey.
You can ALL contribute to this research, from personal documents, photographs or press clippings, collected from relatives, or even by going to the Departmental Archives located in the nearest prefecture.
Each information gleaned will be valuable to us and will contribute to our perspective of retracing the history of hockey.
