It is the lack of information from the town hall which has led dismayed residents of Boissy-l'Aillerie (Val-d'Oise) to form a collective since the appearance of a relay antenna 36 meters high.

“We were stunned after learning about the installation of this antenna, at the very moment of its construction,” explains one of the members of the collective.

“We are not in a situation which turns out to be a white zone, nor an official measure which establishes the installation of such equipment”, is surprised by the person who wishes to remain anonymous.

The equipment is built Tunnel patha sensitive natural space. “There was no public consultation,” he regrets on behalf of the collective. The group deplores the arrival of the relay antenna in the field of vision of several homes.

Aspect visuel

Failing to prove health risks of the presence of a relay antenna, it is against the visual effect that the members of the collective rebel. “The antenna is installed in a protected area, 500 m from the church,” complains the resident of the Moulin residence. “In our residence, we have restrictions and during this time we install a relay antenna in our field of vision,” he laments.

We are whistleblowers. We are considering taking legal action

And unfavorable opinion of the architect of the buildings of had been issued and yet, the relay antenna was built.

“The Elan law (on town planning and housing) gave less power to the municipalities and buildings of France. Favorable opinion or not, mobile operators can do what they want,” said the resident.

The standards

“Most of us came to settle in Boissy-l’Aillerie for its tranquility and since then, the rail freight line has developed, trucks block the village and now, we are developing the relay antennas”

The initiator of the collective

“We are whistleblowers. We believe that this relay antenna is not justified. She doesn't belong there. We are considering taking legal action,” warns the collective, aware that the process will be in vain since the relay antenna is already established.

But his action could be supported by others opponents to the development of mobile telephone antennas.

The mayor: “I recognize a lack of information”

He is sincere on this point. Michel Guiard, mayor of Boissy-l'Aillerie, acknowledges having failed in his duty to inform the population during the installation of the relay antenna. “I did not follow the correct procedure. I should have informed the population and my municipal council,” he explains about this clumsiness. Since then, he has published information for residents.
In 2019, the municipality was asked by Tdf (French television broadcasting) to install a new 5G relay antenna. “In 2020, the operator Free returned to the charge, arguing that there was a lack of coverage in the lower part of the village,” explains the councilor, who granted the building permit, despite an unfavorable opinion from the architect of the buildings of France. “A twelve-year agreement was signed with the operator,” informs the mayor.
“The question of mobile telephony is always the same problem. We all want to have a good network but we don't want a relay antenna near our home for a story of emission of waves, with unproven effects for health, while we all have “a microwave,” comments the 83-year-old elected official, who will not run for a new term in 2026. People come to see me to express their fear about the effects of the antenna. Some tell me they feel migraines… even though the equipment is not yet in use. I also have a majority of residents who support the installation of relay antennas. »
