They danced, they had fun, and they had fun until the middle of the night to celebrate this new year 2025.

Ambienced by the music of DJ Christophe, 125 beneficiaries accompanied by 25 volunteers from the association took advantage of the New Year's Eve offered Tuesday evening by the Secours Populaire de Haute-.

At this meal organized as every year at the Casi restaurant of the Sncf (former works council), the guests tasted cheesecakes, chicken thighs with their dauphinois gratin, or even logs kindly prepared by the cook of this company restaurant.

He, like the 25 Secours Populaire volunteers, devoted their New Year's Eve to decorating, to serving, but above all to investing in the happiness of people affected by loneliness and need.

Isolated people, single mothers with their children, and with very low incomes.

Sylvie, volunteer in full service.

“I prefer to be here than going to a restaurant or elsewhere,” says Chantal, a former teacher and volunteer for 5 years. “It’s nice to see people dancing and having fun. Lots of children are there, they have a smile, and it's a truly wonderful evening of sharing. »

This New Year's Eve is a moment of carefree happiness, as if stolen from a difficult daily life.

The children all inherited free tickets offered by the Champ de Juillet fairgrounds.

1,400 families in Haute-Vienne

“This concludes our Green Santa campaign. We offered packages, toys or chocolates to 1,400 families in Haute-Vienne during 25 distributions. We also worked with the homeless, students, in the neighborhoods, at the remand center… The whole of December was dedicated to that” explains Thierry Mazabraud, general secretary of the association for 30 years.

Secours Populaire celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2025, a symbolic year filled with festivities and always, support for the most deprived.

This New Year’s Eve brought the Secours Populaire Green Santas campaign to a close.
