Weather report. Indre-et-Loire on alert for violent winds with gusts of up to 110 km/h: trains canceled

The vent will blow very hard, Monday January 6, 2025, from 5 a.m.: Weather France issued an alert bulletin vigilance Orange for the department from Indre-et-Loire and twenty others on the passage of storm Floriane.

The majority of trains SNCF and TER departing and arriving from Tours are purely and simply deleted over the entire duration of the episode.

Orange alert for violent winds from Météo France in Indre-et-Loire

Of the gusts from 90 to 100 km/h and even locally up to 110 km/h are anticipated by weather experts.

The yellow alert begins at 5 a.m., then switches to orange from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.then yellow again until 2 p.m.

Almost all trains departing and arriving from Tours station are canceled from 5 a.m. Both the TER Rémi governed by the Centre-Val-de-Loire region as well as the TGV and other SNCF trains.

What trains could run?

At 10 p.m. this Sunday, the SNCF website announces that alone the following trains would initially run :

• 5:30 a.m. – TER 57950 to Chartres Pôle d’Echange Compa
• 5:58 a.m. – TER 57807 for Châteauroux GR
• 6:30 a.m. – TER 57954 to Chartres Pôle d’Echange Compa

On arrival at Tours station here are the confirmed trainsthis Sunday evening, be careful the situation is likely to change :

• 6:30 a.m. – TER 57800 from Loches
• 7:30 a.m. – TER 57 513 from Neuillé-Pont-Pierre
• 7:30 a.m. – TER 57511 from Saint-Christophe-sur-le-Nais

All other trains are canceled according to the SNCF website.

The parks and gardens of the city of Tours closed

The city of Tours announced, on the evening of Sunday January 5, that parks and gardens were temporarily closed starting at midnight and until further notice.

» In anticipation of the expected strong wind gusts and possible impacts on trees. Services will check the condition of the sites and secure them before reopening to the public,” the communications department of the city of Tours informed the press.

Aggravating factor for tree falls: water-saturated soils

The greatest caution is required. Indeed, an “aggravating factor: the water saturated soils following the rains of recent days make the vegetation more sensitive to the wind,” reports Météo France.

It is advisable to protect property exposed to winds, to keep informed andavoid travel.
