The naturally warm waters of Saint-Thomas remain one of the best ways to end a winter day in the mountains.
Sun, swimsuits and a summer air in the middle of winter. Nestled in the heart of the Haut-Conflent mountains, the Saint-Thomas baths attract hundreds of visitors at the end of the year, all eager to set foot in the pools. Fed by a natural hot water source, the pools are 37°C compared to 9°C outside. Something to delight holidaymakers.
This water from the Catalan mountains has many benefits for the body, thanks to a composition naturally rich in fluorine and sulfur. “When there was a thermal establishment here, people came to treat skin diseases, respiratory diseases, war wounds“, declares a professional. Nearly 100,000 bathers go to the Saint-Thomas baths each year.
