Benjamin Morel was the guest of the Franceinfo morning show, Wednesday January 1st. The political scientist returns to Emmanuel Macron's very political wishes for 2025.

Emmanuel Macron made his mea culpa during his wishes for 2025, Tuesday December 31. “I think that was the objective”declares Benjamin Morel to franceinfo. “He understood that the speech a few weeks ago had not necessarily been well received on this subject. It was a question of taking an additional step in mea culpa. It is not either a complete mea culpa, this dissolution was not presented as completely unsuccessful. We are in a form of half-mea culpa. There is a communication that is being readjusted.explains the political scientist.

The Head of State announced that in 2025 he would ask the French to “slice” of the “determining subjects”. For Benjamin Morel, this sentence “is deliberately ambiguous” and does not necessarily refer to a referendum. “The notion of consultation refers to three modalities, at a minimum. This is not the first time that he has announced referendums. Emmanuel Macron announces them almost every year. It is a form of Arlesian on the two five-year term is a way of giving the feeling that we are going to give power back to the people.”he says.
