The French army launched seven bombs against hideouts of the Islamist terrorist organization in central Syria on Sunday December 29.
Strikes were carried out by the French army in Syria against Daesh sites on Sunday December 29, announced this Tuesday December 31 the Minister of the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu. On his X account, he affirms that “our armies remain committed to the fight against terrorism in the Levant”.
“On Sunday, French air assets carried out targeted strikes against Daesh sites on Syrian soil,” he wrote, supporting video.
Still according to the newly appointed minister, these strikes took place as part of the international coalition “Operation inherent Resolve”, a military operation carried out since 2014 in Iraq and since 2015 in Syria.
Seven bombs dropped
The Ministry of the Armed Forces specifies to BFMTV that France has hired Rafales and a Reaper drone to target these caches belonging to Daesh in central Syria. In total, seven bombs were dropped against two targets chosen by France.
Still according to our information, the planes and the drone took off from the French Prince Hassan air base in Jordan, located in the desert northeast of the city of Amman. However, the results of the strikes were not mentioned.
This is the first time that a Reaper drone has been used by the French army for a bombardment as part of Operation Chammal, the French component of “Operation Inherent Resolve”.
