The weather on December 31, 2024 began under a cloudy, but bright sky. The rapid rise in temperatures favors the formation of clouds. They settle in along the eastern, northern and western slopes before late morning. Showers, sometimes stormy, are expected before midday, hence the yellow warning, heavy rain and thunderstorms, issued at 7 a.m. this Tuesday morning. It takes effect at 11 a.m. and could be lifted around 7 p.m.

Showers, often of high intensity and taking on a stormy character, are logically expected in the three regions placed on alert, as specified by Météo-France La Réunion. This precipitation will affect the highlands, the interior and the coast. Do not cross submerged riffles and avoid approaching gullies.

At the end of the day, this rain disappears.

The easterly flow is relatively weak. Gusts of 30km/h, maximum, are expected in the morning. They slow down again in the afternoon.

The temperatures are still so high. Despite the showers, forecasters do not expect the mercury to drop. Thermometers should reach 32°C on the North and East coast, 31 in the Port sectors and 33°C on the edge of the Saline-les-Bains lagoon, 29 in the cirques and 21°C on the summits.

The sea is not very rough.
