A skull and a bone that could be a femur have been found in frozen ground. Near these bones, there was a piece of fabric, which could be a piece of clothing. Criminal identification technicians (TIC) from the national gendarmerie went to the scene.
An open investigation
A military drone pilot and the gendarmerie mountain group (GMG) were mobilized on Monday, December 30, to inspect the area. However, it was very difficult to estimate how long the bones had been there, due to the very frozen ground. “We don’t know if it’s a man or a woman at the moment.”added a source close to the investigation.
An investigation was opened and “entrusted to the Gap gendarmerie company as well as to the IRCGN investigation unit to date the bones and find possible DNA”specified Marion Lozac'hmeur, public prosecutor of Gap to BFM DICI.
