Friday evening, a carpenter and a landscaper were seriously robbed. They had recently moved to the new Saint-Clément activity zone in Divatte-sur-Loire.
Barely installed and already broken into. Four days after moving to its new premises, a company in Loire-Atlantique suffered a car-ramming breakage on Friday evening. During this holiday period, employees will have had time to work there for barely two days. This situation is not isolated: as revealed by West France the manager of a carpentry shop and a landscaper were visited in the Saint-Clément activity zone of Divatte-sur-Loire, a town located between Nantes and Ancenis.
“They came around 11 p.m. My neighbor called me to let me know they were in the area.”says this Monday morning Armand Bourdeau, business manager of Infinity Bois. Living nearby, he tried to chase them but his car had run out of battery. Arriving on site, he found that all his trucks had been emptied. Some of the power tools (such as saws) have evaporated. “We can’t work”sighs the manager, reached this Monday by telephone, while he was listing the damages.
Tens of thousands of euros
For the moment, the damage suffered has not been definitively established. According to initial information, it could amount to several tens of thousands of euros. “My equipment must have already gone very far”he thinks, disappointed. On the image tapes from the video surveillance system he had set up, “we can see the plates very well”he continues about these thieves, who came in two vehicles and who would not be their first attempt. The entrepreneur, who has heard about thefts in the area for a month, remains in contact with the gendarmerie. He filed a complaint. More generally, “We have been hearing about it for years and nothing has changed. It's going to fall on someone else. It will become dangerous both for our safety and that of others. There will be spillovers in both directions.he fears.
Baptiste Aubron, business manager of Paysage Aquadesign, in the same area, was also robbed the same evening. Chainsaws, brushcutters and other generators have disappeared from the premises he moved into in September. “It’s easy to resell”he observes about his looted material. Arriving 30 to 40 minutes after the incident, after having been warned by his remote video surveillance system, he did not lose his temper and denounced as much a “professional insecurity” that one «injustice». “It’s not possible that there are more and more and nothing happens”especially since on the videos, he clearly saw that these people, who stayed for around twenty minutes, were not even hooded.
We wonder who will be next

“These people feel protected and know it”he laments. In his case, if insurance must work, he knows that certain criteria mean that“we are not going to be helped as we need”. For the moment, the three employees are on leave but “the recovery will be complicated”he insists. He will have to buy equipment but wonders when he will be compensated.
A meeting is planned with the community of municipalities on January 6, to see what could be put in place to secure this very recent area. “It will continue, we must not dream”anticipates Baptiste Aubron, tired. “We wonder who will be next”confides one of his neighbors, who considers himself “lucky” for not being hit that time. Another business was robbed on Friday evening, with the same procedure, but only a screwdriver was stolen.
