“Some people have nothing better to do on a Sunday morning than punch a single woman. » The message posted on social networks this Sunday by the Unsa traction union section of Paris Sud Est is full of anger. He denounces the violent attack on one of their “young” colleagues at the Gare de Lyon, in the 12th arrondissement of Paris.
According to our information, the victim, a train driver from line R, whose train arrived from Montereau (Seine-et-Marne) shortly after 8 a.m., was carrying out the usual checks when she was attacked by a man. While she was checking that no passengers were left in the cars, she was allegedly punched several times in the face.
The attacker then fled. The victim then went to the regional police station in Paris to report his attack. While she was evacuated, injured, to Saint-Antoine hospital, the alleged perpetrator of the beating was identified thanks to the description provided by his victim.
He was able to be arrested by teams from the Rail Networks Brigade (BRF) while he was still inside the Gare de Lyon. He was then taken into custody. “A complaint has been filed,” SNCF confirms to Le Parisien.
The Unsa union deplores the “unacceptable physical attack on a young driver on Line R. All our solidarity and our wishes for recovery to our colleague! » The departure of the train in the other direction was slightly delayed due to this attack, also announced the official account of the R line on social networks.
A little earlier in the weekend, this Saturday, it was a bus driver of line 122 who was allegedly “gassed with tear gas” in Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis), deplores, still on the same social network, Ahmed Berrahal (RATP machinist and CGT elected official). Shortly before 2 p.m., while she was at the Delpêche stop, a man allegedly attacked the driver.
She was suffering from burns to her eyes when she was taken to hospital. A complaint also had to be filed and service in this area did not resume until after 7 p.m. “Stop this gratuitous violence on public transport (…) there are 4 attacks per day on our colleagues”, fumes Ahmed Berrahal.
