A tragedy unfolded this Saturday in the town of Pujols, located in Lot-et-Garonne. A 50-year-old woman fatally injured her 58-year-old partner with a knife during a domestic dispute. After the incident, she herself alerted the emergency services.
An argument that turns into drama
According to the information collected, the events took place late in the afternoon at the home of the couple, who had been in a relationship for six years. An argument reportedly broke out, during which blows were exchanged on both sides.
The fifty-year-old, in a state of shock and under the influence of alcohol at the time of the events, stabbed her companion at least once. Slightly injured on her eyebrow, she contacted emergency services immediately after the attack.
The victim succumbs to his injuries
When firefighters arrived, the victim's condition was already considered critical. The man, aged 58, was rushed to the Villeneuvois health center. He underwent surgery, but succumbed to his injuries in the evening, according to a police source.
The suspect placed in police custody
Unknown to the police until now, the woman was arrested and taken into custody. According to a source close to the investigation, she admitted the facts during her hearing.
An investigation was entrusted to the Organized and Specialized Crime Division (DCOS) of Agen to clarify the exact circumstances of the tragedy. Investigators will particularly seek to determine the reasons for the argument and whether previous domestic violence could be involved.
