Dakar, Dec 29 (APS) – Senegal will participate in 2025 in the different categories of the African Cup of Nations (CAN), thanks to the qualification of its U15 (school) U17 and U20 national teams, as well as its women’s and local selections and its A selection in Confederation of African Football (CAF) competitions.
The local national team, which validated its qualification for the African Nations Championship on Saturday, will be the first to enter the competition at the beginning of February, for this year which will be marked by the holding of several CANs in Africa.
The local Lions, defending champions, will compete in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) jointly organized by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, from February 1 to 28, 2025.
In March, the U17 national team, title holder, will participate in Morocco in the CAN of this category. The opening match will be played on Sunday March 30, 2025, with the final scheduled for Saturday April 19.
After the U17 CAN, the Cubs will compete in the U20 CAN in Ivory Coast, from April 26 to May 18.
The U15 national team will play the next U15 African School Football Championship. This edition will be held in Zanzibar (Tanzania), from May 18 to 24, 2024.
For its part, the women’s national team will participate in the CAN, which will take place from July 5 to 26, 2025, in Morocco.
The Lions will end the year 2025 by playing in the CAN in the Cherifian Kingdom, from December 21 to January 18, 2026.
