Today at 1:00 p.m. – by Thomas Fourcroy
No respite for Murders at ! Whatever the period, the famous collection is always there on France 3, as we note this evening, at 9:10 p.m. At the rendezvous, a new episode carried by Gaëlle Bona and Thomas Jouannet, entitled Murders in Puy-en-Velay. Directed by Laurence Katrian, the feature film takes us into a funny investigation led by Lieutenant Marion Cazale and Captain Martin Jimenez. Two fine sleuths with opposing characters, who must shed light on the death of a young woman, near the Pierre des Fèvres. A special case for Marion, suffering from type 1 diabetes which is increasingly affecting her eyesight. An illness that she hides from those close to her, as well as from her colleagues.
Murders in Puy-en-Velay : a shower of legends for a unitary intriguer…
As Camille Ghanassia, producer, revealed at the microphone of France Bluethe goal was to find filming locations full of history for this new episode. Successful mission in the Haute-Loire prefecture, Puy-en-Velay: “I was looking for a very beautiful and surprising region, with strong myths. I knew that in France there were castles and cathedrals at the top of large peaks and I found that incredibly crazy and I wanted to see what it was like. was. And I discovered the myths of the fever stone and the virgin of Mont Aiguilhe.”
Thus, two legends collide in this episode. We have that of the virgin's leap, when a young girl whose morals were considered too loose for the time was pushed from the top of a rock. A jump into the void which she survived, enough to prove her purity. But too sure of herself, she will repeat this miracle until she kills herself. Then, there is question of the myth of the fever stone, when in 430, the Virgin Mary appeared to a sick lady, telling her to find a large black stone… A stone from Mont-Anis, on which the suffering woman I lay down to finally heal.
Murders in… : Puy-en-Velay or the enormous challenge of filming
Filming in Puy-en-Velay was a real challenge. Because yes, the geography of the place was important, as director Laurence Katrian notes: “There is a real challenge because the whole city is at height and we are filming horizontally. So, we will still have a feeling, a little, of confinement.” Technical constraints to which Camille Ghanassia also returned, still at France Blue : “When you have to climb all the steps of the rock, to mount the cameras, etc… We had to double the teams! It's more technical than elsewhere. And then there are no big avenues, we are on a small medieval town and which is very charming, obviously. But it's certain that in terms of setup, it complicates things a little. Let it be said, Murders in Puy-en-Velay will have something to please fans of the genre, between mysterious legends and surprising filming locations!
