This year, the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah takes place from December 25, 2024 to January 1, 2025 and like every year, the tradition is that Jews from all over the world light a new branch of a candlestick which contains eight, called hanoukiaand overlooked by a ninth, the chamach. Every evening, at nightfall, a new candle is lit for eight days.

And while many members of the Jewish community in France celebrate this holiday at home, there are many public Hanukkah lightings throughout France, and Paris is no exception. A giant hanoukia will be lit every evening in different places in Paris. The event is organized by the movement Loubavitch from Paris.
