And two, in one month! Royal Air Maroc (RAM) is preparing to take delivery of a new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner this Saturday, December 28, just a few weeks after having received an aircraft of the same type on November 24. The arrival of this second Boeing 787, registered “CN-RHB”, brings RAM’s long-haul fleet to eleven aircraft, allowing the national airline to strengthen its capabilities and competitiveness in the international air transport market.

The two new aircraft are part of an order for ten aircraft (including 7 Boeing 737 Max, for medium-haul destinations, and 3 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, for long-haul flights), launched by RAM before signing the 2023-2037 program contract with the government, July 11, 2023.

On July 12, 2023, the day after the signing of the said program contract, Hamid Addou, president and CEO of RAM, announced the preparation of a call for tenders for the acquisition of new devices from “different manufacturers“. On April 15, the company launched this market, as part of its development plan which aims to increase its fleet from 52 aircraft currently to 200 by 2037.

Over the past nine years, RAM has expanded its fleet of long-haul aircraft, consisting of Boeing 787-8s and 787-9s. “The 787 Dreamliner is a perfect fit for Royal Air Maroc’s growth and modernization plans“, explained Brad McMullen, senior vice president, commercial sales and marketing at Boeing. “Boeing’s relationship with the airline spans more than five decades and we look forward to further opportunities to strengthen our partnership with Royal Air Maroc“, he stressed.

A member of the OneWorld alliance, RAM serves 82 destinations in 41 territories around the world, including frequent flights to the largest capitals in Europe, North America and the Middle East. In addition to the 787 Dreamliner, Royal Air Maroc’s Boeing fleet also includes 737s.
