On Wednesday January 8, 2024, the Opera will host the grand final of the 7th edition of the Voix des Outre-mer competition, a prestigious event which celebrates overseas talents and their contribution to classical and lyrical music.

The Voix des Outre-mer competition is distinguished by an ambitious and inclusive program:

  • 1 227 hours of vocal practice lessons and masterclasses offered free of charge.
  • 14 singing teachers and pianists mobilized to train talents.
  • 10 territorial finals organized, with 50 jury members.
  • 2 714 spectators in person during the finals.
  • More than a million spectators via television, digital and radio.
  • 1 creation of lyric opera and 7 Voices from Overseas concerts, including 3 in French opera houses.

New for 2024: The public’s favorite For the first time, the public will be able to award their favorite by voting online on the Voix des Outre-mer website, from January 1 and until the evening of the final.

After a year of training and territorial finals, these artists will unite their voices in Paris during the Académie Voix des Outre-mer.

Organized by the Les Contres Courants association, the Voix des Outre-mer competition aims to offer real visibility to overseas talents on the national and international scene. It aims to be both a vector of social integration and a tool for equal opportunities by offering free and open access to musical training.

This competition is aimed at all overseas residents, whether self-taught or professionals, and embraces all forms of music (jazz, soul, rock, etc.), with no age limit.

​The grand finale of Voix des Outre-mer promises to be an evening rich in emotions and exceptional performances, highlighting the artistic potential of the Overseas Territories. See you on January 8 at the Paris Opera for a unique celebration of talent and cultural diversity.
