Mushrooms have grown and fantastic animals have settled in Bagatelle's garden to create a luminous forest. This year again, the Town Hall of 6e et 8e arrondissements has set up a trail made of lanterns which has, since its creation, been a real success. Accessible from 1is December until January 15 completely free, the event brought together 7,000 people at its inauguration on November 30, at the end of the day. The mayor (MadMars), Olivia Fortin, explains: “ The lantern exhibition at Bagatelle Park is a magical spectacle that has been around for 2 years, a significant success for young and old. It is for me the opportunity to open the town hall to everyone and to transform Bagatelle Park into a place of life and wonder for all residents. »
Each lantern is painstakingly handcrafted by artisans bringing unicorns, fairies and other legendary creatures to life. Taking up Chinese traditions and being made of silk and LEDs, the lanterns light up the town hall gardens from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. every evening. At nightfall, the park transforms into a wonderful world that takes each visitor on a journey, almost forgetting the cold of nightfall. Shades of blue, pink and green shine in the dark, taking everyone far away from their daily lives for an evening.
Magical is the word that fits perfectly to describe the atmosphere that hovers in the park. This word also comes up regularly, as Madeleine, mother of Laetitia, Raphaël and Théophile, who came as a family to see the illuminations, points out. She would also like to point out that this helps bring the Christmas spirit to life among the little people of Marseillais. “ We can take the children to the park and stay in the evening to see the lanterns », says Marie, another mother, “ This allows for a free and accessible outing “. A good initiative from the town hall for many. “ It's fun for kids and it's beautiful even during the day », estimates Agathe, mother of Hannaé who in turn exclaims “ it's magnificent ! “. This wonderful little universe is therefore a success for the town hall and a sweet moment shared with family for visitors.
