In Cholet, the Horizon social center helps residents get dressed inexpensively

Friday December 20, the Horizon social center organized the 6th edition of its solidarity thrift store, “Frip'horizon”, based on the sale of clothes for 1 euro. Every Friday before the school holidays the event, which has become unmissable, brings together around a solidarity initiative, resulting from the expression of a problem common to many households: the cost of clothing children… who do not have stop growing!

Thanks to the generosity of local residents who responded to the call for donations, the prefabricated Allée des Vanneaux has been transformed into a real store, as busy as in the projections of the volunteers Sylvie, Gisèle, Nicole, Chantal, Françoise, Fanfan and Alain, who sorted all the textile pieces with the greatest rigor.

I am very proud of this wonderful collaboration and of the fact that we built this adventure looking in the same direction. comments Hélène Mirande, representative of the family sector of the social center. Sylvie Robichon, a volunteer for two years, declares swim in happiness . Advising, supporting and organizing are all fulfilling activities for the latter, convinced of the usefulness of such action based on a circular and collaborative approach.

In practice, calls for donations are made on the social center website, in the fortnight preceding the sale. Clothing size 5/12 years will be welcome, as the need is high says Hélène Mirande, always attentive to user requests.
